IMEC (International Mathematics Olympiad)
IMEC (International Mathematics Olympiad) is from the UK (UNICEP is the Universal Centre of Educational Platform). They have IMEC, JEO (Junior English Olympics), and ISCO (International Science Challenge Olympiad). Nearly 30 countries and regions, such as Australia, UK, US,
Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam (and more countries and regions) participate in IMEC every year. Miss Man International Education is so delighted and proudly represent IMEC to bring more global Mathematics questions and challenges to our students and schools. The Olympiad will be in two rounds (Preliminary round and Global round). Students in the pre-selection will be eligible to participate in the Global Round in Sydney, Australia. The key competence tested by IMEC is logical combination, not just pure knowledge of
formulas
Aiming to encourage students to study in Mathematics and critical thinking, the IMEC team decided to conduct an Olympiad of the International Mathematics Exam Center to boost the motivation of both teachers and students who love challenges, exploration and STEM. The IMEC team also hopes this Olympiad will help all types of schools to keep their students engaged and to observe their Mathematics education in an international context.
Each participating school may organize its students in each category from Kindergarten, Grade 1 to 12 (Primary 1 to 6, Secondary 1 to 6). Students can receive prizes for their achievements in this Olympiad. Per category, 60% of the IMEC Preliminary round qualifiers for the IMEC Global Round. The IMEC preliminary round will be conducted in English and
Chinese. This event is hoped to motivate students to see Mathematics in a different light, pique their interest in the subject, and think about how they can apply Math skills in their future studies and daily life. Students can also get the opportunity to get a scholarship in the preliminary round.
We wish the best to all students and their Mathematics teachers. We hope our youth will be inspired to think critically and scientifically by the love of Mathematics and Technology. We look forward to welcoming you all to the Olympiad days.
